Australian Can Shooting Championships

With so many wonderful events happening throughout Coolamon Shire, there’s no need to hibernate this winter. So rug up, get out there and brave the cold in the name of culture, family and fun.

107th Annual Ganmain Show

In 2015, Ganmain Show Society will celebrate 107 years, and you’re invited to take part in the festivities on Saturday August 22nd! While the 2015 program will be available shortly, you can expect to see some of the following activities and events take place this year:
Championship Dog Show, Pie Eating Competition, Wagga Harleys Owner Club, Wagga Vintage Motor Club, Clydesdales - Light Horses, Show Jumping - Sheep - Produce, Riverina Yard Dog Championships, Home Brewing Competition, Junior Judging - Grains & Wool, Quick Shear Competition and the Grand Finale Fireworks! This year the title of Australian Can Shooting Champion will be decided on the third weekend in July (Sat 18 and Sun 19) at the Ardlethan Gun Club. Attracting over 180 shooters (and more then 11,000 tin cans), this event is not to be missed. 
On offer are a range of events including the double barrel, single barrel, gun down, delayed pull and double rise in various grades including; A, B, C, Ladies, Veterans, Super Veterans, Juniors and Sub-Juniors. Connect via Facebook.

Up2Date Art Exhibition

2015 marks the 10th anniversary of the Up2Date Art Exhibition. The Opening Night will be held on Friday July 17th from 6.30pm (for a 7.30pm start).
The Exhibition will open from 10am - 3pm on Friday 17th and between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 18th - Sunday 26th July. Please note the Exhibition and venue is closed on Mondays.
Sections: Oil, Acrylic - Mixed Media, Watercolour, Drawing & Pastels, Sculpture & Ceramics, as well as Printmaking. This year’s Section 7 theme is “Things with Wings”.
A theatrical addition to the ten day program is a Dianna Lovett production titled “Picture This” to be held on Saturday July 25 (tentative date). Details will be advised via the Facebook page.

Coolamon Team Yarding: Horse and Cattle Events

Queen’s Birthday long weekend (Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June), head along to Coolamon Showground to witness local horse riders battle against to clock to get their correct coloured cattle out of a mob and place them into a pen!
Don’t miss the Stockman’s Challenge obstacle course, live music  by Steve Pollard, camp oven cooking and an evening meal provided by the Coolamon Anglers Club for $15pp.
