Inaugural Bale Out Ball a huge success!

17 Jul 2014 1:33 PM - Written by President Sarah McCaig
The inaugural ball was held at Marrar Memorial Hall on Friday 4th July 2014. The aim of this ball was to support Australian Agriculture and provide a social outlet for farmers , their families and rural communities . The night's theme was Christmas In July and it went of with a BANG.
As the buses rolled in from Rannock , Coolamon and Wagga the nerves set in hosting the FIRST EVER BALE OUT BALL, but our wonderful MC Anne Delaney helped to settle any nerves we had as well as relaxing everyone to their seats. Everyone was served up a beautiful 3 course meal consisting of trio of dips for entrée, baked dinner for main and desert bar for desert there was not a empty tummy in the building.
As  the evening progressed guest speaker Owen Finigan spoke beautifully about life with the Wallabies, his irish background, family, as well as the fantastic job he does as CEO of Snowy Hydro Southcare and what a important job it does for our area as well as Southern NSW.
Silent and live auctions ran all night with the majority of guests going home with something. The band Silverhair kicked off with their first song and the dance floor was alive with everyone having a great time. You know it is a good night when the dance floor is full on the first song.
The night went really quick and no one wanted to go home. People were so appreciative that we had taken the time to think of organising transport especially to more isolated areas.

145 tickets were sold, and around $3,500.00 was raised on the night. This money will be divided between 3 main charities, as well as funding some of the next event.
The next event is a Family Golf Day on the 20th September at Coolamon Golf Club. This will be a family friendly event. There will be areas for kids with lots of great activities so parents can enjoy being involved in the Ambrose and relax a little.
The third event is being planned for Ardlethan in February.  We are hoping to have a ball around Valentines day and market it something around 'Farmer Wants A Wife'.
A special mention really has to be made to Anne Delaney, Owen Finigan and Silverhair for making the night such a huge success . Also a big thank you needs to be said to everyone that came and supported us or helped us on our journey to get there it is greatly appreciated.
