Cool events take away the winter chills

107th annual Ganmain Show

Love it or hate it, winter’s here, and in Coolamon Shire that means the waft of wood heaters in the air, fog descending on a cold morning, ice on the windscreen, mittens wrapped around a hot coffee, and a ton of cool winter events on your to-do list.

Winter presents the perfect opportunity to soak up some art and culture, with visiting authors, art exhibitions and locally produced plays sprinkled throughout the cooler months.

Head to Coolamon Shire Library on Tuesday 7th June to meet Sue Liu, author of Accidental Aid Worker", the memoir of a courageous woman on a quest to fine love and places to belong.

Soak up the sunshine and enjoy a splash of colour at the Ardlethan Rainbow Run this Queen's Birthday long weekend (and don't forget to share your pic's using #VisitCoolamonShire).

If you’re a fan of art, ‘Giilanggalang’ an Aboriginal Art Display will be showing at the Coolamon Shire Library from Tuesday 12th July to Saturday 23rd July.

The Up2Date Art Exhibition opening night will be held Friday 22nd July, with the exhibition open until Sunday 31st July. It doesn’t end there, Jordy Bos unmissable ‘Into the Fold’ Exhibition will be held at the Up-to-Date Store from Saturday 13th until Saturday 27th August.

Get your tickets now for ‘Basin’ an Australian Play, which will be held on Friday 15th July. A fantastic local production, performed by Virginia Anderson, Haya Arzdin and Stephen Holt – all from Wagga Wagga.

Then don’t miss the 108th annual Ganmain Show, Saturday 20th August from 9am, with all of your favourite events including the conformation dog show, quick shear competition, woodchopping demonstrations, fireworks and more.
