The Up-To-Date Store Cultural Precinct – What to Do In Coolamon NSW

When you're considering what to do in NSW on holiday, Coolamon, Riverina presents a unique, interesting and even a little "quirky" option for Riverina families and NSW tourers. Coolamon's legendary Cultural Precinct is housed in the historical Up-to-Date Store, and is something uniquely special. The Up-to-Date Store is a symbol of Coolamon's passion for embracing the new, while celebrating and preserving its history.  No wonder there is nothing like it to see or do in NSW!

Nowadays, Coolamon's Up-To-Date store boasts a library, two museums, a cafe/gallery and visitor information service in the heart of Coolamon’s heritage listed Main Street. The Precinct is a must see destination for tourists and a cultural centre for the arts and exhibitions. This unique heritage facility is also available for hire.

"Up-to-date" Exhibition Spaces to Tour or Hire

The Up-to-Date Precinct is synonymous with Coolamon Shire Council's cultural attractions. The flexible exhibition spaces house permanent museum collections, the annual Up-to-Date Art Show and Capture Coolamon Photographic Competition. The resonant history of the building belies contemporary exhibition and Coolamon event amenities. This purpose built facility is an attraction on its own so you'll love to visit or book your next exhibition, function or event here.

Coolamon Historical Tourism

Built long ago the Up-to-Date Store provided anything from pianos to fresh seafood for the people of Coolamon NSW. Established in the 1900’s this heritage listed building is still resplendent with original fittings and one-of-a-kind historical artifacts like the Lamson Cash Railway system, a cutting edge Point Of Sale system in its time!

Must-See Features for Visitors to Coolamon NSW

The Up-to-Date exhibitions are run exclusively by volunteers who are passionate about local history. The permanent collections represent the unique passions of local residents and their stories connect both locals and tourists with times gone by. If you are interested in local history or want to share your stories of Coolamon consider volunteering for the Up-to-Date Cultural Precinct team.
