ABOUT CHAMPAGNE FLUTES
“Champagne flutes” is a flute quartet which was formed in 2013 and is based in the Riverina region of NSW, Australia. The members are Brett Thompson, Grabrielle Grosfeld, Fran Griffin and Keith Griffin. Each player brings a different sound and approach to the quartet, yet the blend is superb creating a new and exciting sound world. Champagne Flutes makes frequent use of alto and bass flute which in some music does more than extend the range: it produces a surprisingly warm though sometimes dark timbre.
